haha! yeah that's me.
ok so someone will remember this. who was the "del sol guy" who had the crush on the chic but if I remember he never had the balls to ask her our or something? wayson? was that his name?
Yes, John, that was Wayson. You still got yellow fever?
Haha. Always will. Not too much Asian action in Denver though. Not even at titty bars
Plus I’m married. White girl. Go figure. 2 kids now too.
Damn I’m getting old. But I’ll be back in Hawaii next month for a show at blaisdell. Blossoms g2g? Lol
What part of Denver you live in?
Visited the other month, stayed downtown by Union Station. Loved it. Kinda hate that it's the new place to be though and that everyone is moving there, making it expensive AF.
I’m surprised you remembered so much grumps
John sounds like a Creeker.
Yeah we made the decision to move here in like 2013 when it was cheap. Didn’t make it here til 2015. It got expensive but we were still ever so slightly ahead of the curve.
With the kids we had to buy in the burbs. We bought a place in highlands ranch. About the same like living in kapolei and working in town. 18 miles. But it only takes me 40 min in traffic to get to town. Not 2 hours. I work not too far from union station. At the performing arts complex. It was an ok place to work but management changed so I’m working on getting out to do some consulting or something else.
Whoa whoa cool it on the real names. Nah JK
Oh and not rich enough to be a creeker. They are northwest of us. I’m in Douglas county. Still good school district though
Some developers or Realtors used to send me flyers on Highlands Ranch. It looked beautiful, but I do not miss the cold!
It’s good. With kids it’s easy mode. We got a 2 story with a walk out basement, Bigish yard for the burbs, elementary school is literally across the street. We can get to skiing in 1:45.
$45 a month association fees but it includes maintenance of crazy amounts of open space with bike trails, and 4 full on rec centers that are nicer than any 24 fitness I’ve been in, has tennis courts, batting cages, pools with slides and lazy rivers. It’s honestly, Fucking crazy.
My father in law does advertising and he’s been working on a lot of the new kakaako condos. I can’t fathom the $1800 minatenance fees some of those places have for almost nothing.
Kinda the best of both worlds. Some family stayed in Hawaii and I have 2 clients that fly me back couple times a year so I never get too homesick. Wife was born and raised in Kailua so she comes back too, we see folks then come back here and ski til June
That sounds like a good life! The maintenance in the condos aren't that bad. Symphony 1 bd runs about $530 a month for maintenance and electricity. I have another 1b that runs $1500.
oh Ok that’s not as bad what I originally heard it was gonna be down there. Must fluctuate on sq footage of the unit maybe?
Still though, that maintenance is my mortgage
You know, it's been getting cold here. When it hits the 60s, I turn on the seat heaters.
It’s January and I’m still riding my rc51 to work. Not a normal January but I’m thankful for it. The bummer is the snow sucks at the mountains that are closest. So we’ve not got much ski time in yet. But we will at some point.
60 in Hawaii was way colder than 50 here. I did double blankets at 60 in Aiea. I actually regret not having seat heaters in Hawaii. If I ever go back I’ll buy a car with them for sure. We use them a lot up here after skiing. Helps Keep the muscles from getting shitty.
One thing I learned living in Colorado. You have beautiful weather today, tomorrow, it might snow.
True, even in like May that shit happens. But unlike when I lived in brooklyn the snow doesn’t stay around for more than a day or two because of all the sun. So it’s tolerable. East coast winters can suck a ballsack.
Having a pretty brutal winter so far this year in Omaha.
and yea I was looking at the Kakaako condos. The $3k HOA fees are ridiculous.
Oh yeah winter in the plains can suck.
When people ask me about the weather here I always tell them it’s like when I lived in Kaneohe. You are sitting at the bottom of the mountains but the way the weather pattern is, systems don’t stall. They pretty much ride down the mountain and keep going. Then they stop in Kansas. The change of pressure/elevation makes for some big dumps of weather but it’s never here for long.
We can get 3’ of snow one time, but at least it doesn’t stay gloomy like Seattle area.
